Community Groups
A Community Group at Evergreen is one of the vehicles in which we help individuals in their journey to become fully devoted Christ followers. You will find both large and small groups at Evergreen. We believe community is God's design for His purposes in the lives of believers – it is not optional. Jesus says in Luke 10:27, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength, and all your mind … Love your neighbor as you love yourself." We believe that this kind of life transformation happens best in Community groups. We also believe creating and cultivating community takes work and commitment. In our community groups we strive to fulfill these three ministry areas:
Fellowship/Care – building strong, long-lasting relationships and practicing accountability to each other.
Discipleship – asking these questions: What is the next step I need to take on my spiritual journey? How can I help another person take their next step?
Ministry/Service – finding your place of ministry and serve God by serving others.
Why do we have Community Groups and why should I become a part of one? The intent is to shepherd, worship, study the Bible, care for one another, help each other with accountability and fellowship.
